What are open driving sessions?

Separate, open track sessions for the public are a portion of the day reserved for the general public (and their cars or motorcycles) during which anyone can drive or ride in the reserved time slots regardless of categories. Drivers and riders can rent out transponders to record their lap times as well. Open track session times are published in the Calendar
You can register for open track sessions through the agency that has rented the track on the specific day you request. Contact details for the agency and rental days can be found in the Calendar

Do I have to wear a helmet in my car?

Wearing a helmet, and a seat belt, are the basic requirements for being allowed on the track. You can rent helmets and racing balaclavas from the Agency Room located on the ground floor of the control tower. Your own helmet (for car or motorcycle use) can also be used.

Does my insurance cover me when I drive on the track?

No standard vehicle insurance (liability or collision) covers you when you drive on the track. The rule of "you break it, you buy it" applies on the track (this applies for the driver's vehicle and any parts of the SLOVAKIA RING facility, such as guardrails).

Do I have to pay to access the stands on non-race days?

Access to the stands is free of charge unless otherwise defined for a specific event.

What are the best lap times on the track?

Is any special apparel or accessories required?

A helmet is required while drivers in open top vehicles must have a helmet that covers their face with a protective chin piece that is integrated into the structure of the helmet. Wearing your seat belt is required at all times. No special apparel is required for open track sessions. Any clothing should not be too tight so as to restrict the driver's movement. Footwear must be closed toe and lightweight with a flat sole. These regulations also apply to any front-seat passenger as well.

A non-flammable racing suit, underwear, gloves and shoes are recommended.

What is the track configuration during open track sessions?
The longest track configuration is the standard choice for open track sessions (5,922 m – Configuration 4). Other configurations are used when another event is organised through the agency or if the track is under repair and a portion of the track is closed.

Can multiple drivers use the same time slot during open track sessions?
The price for motorcycles and cars is always for a single vehicle/driver (for instance it is impossible to purchase a ticket for a single vehicle and four drivers).

Can I have a front-seat passenger in the car?
A front-seat passenger is allowed, but he or she must have their own helmet and wear their safety belt at all times as stated in the front-seat passenger disclosure form. No passengers are allowed on motorcycles.
